6th Annual Christmas Craft & Vendor Expo on Saturday, November 10, 2018 @ St. Clement Hall (Holy Family Parish), 216 East Wooster Street, Navarre, Ohio 44662 from 10:00am - 4:00pm during Christmas in the Village. Admission is FREE! We will have food and refreshments, kettle corn, 50 ornaments to the first 50 adult guest (ornaments made by Heavens from Betsy), first 100 children accompanied by an adult will receive a free kids meal coupon to Texas Roadhouse, $500 cash card raffle, 50/50 raffle, chair massages for donation (Massage by Erika), and so much more! 100% of ALL sales ALL day will go to Kozmos Charities, a 501c3 that donates to a myriad of local non-profit and civic groups, sports teams, booster clubs and other school groups, and other fundraising activities.

On top of our regular busines (kitchen open 11 AM till 9 PM), we will be hosting the LINCOLN STREET BLUES BAND upstairs from 8 PM to 11 PM. Admission is a voluntary donation. Cash bar and limited appetizer menu available, too.

There will be a brief and informal dedication of the Camille J. Leslie Reading Garden on the East Lawn at 11am on Monday June 10th (opening day for Summer Reading Club.)

The rain location will be the Duncan Room inside the library.

Guests will include Camille's husband Edward Leslie, along with  Barkley, the “Paws to Read” canine volunteer, and there will be dog-shaped cookies and the debut of a booklist of our Spanish-language materials donated in Camille’s memory.

Veterans Day Luncheon

The University of Akron Wayne College invites area veterans to their sixth annual Veterans Day Luncheon and Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Student Life Building. Located at 1901 Smucker Rd. in Orrville, the event is free for veterans and a family member, but seating is limited. Registration is required at wayne.uakron.edu/webforms/rsvp/veterans.dot or by calling 330-684-8973.

The University of Akron alumnus, Ernest Stadvec will provide the keynote address. The military-style ceremony will include lunch, music and a time to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Representatives will be on hand to share local resources available to veterans, including educational benefits available to those who have served. Social time will be from 11-11:30 a.m., with Stair Steps to Wellness providing complimentary chair massages to veterans who arrive early. A ceremony and lunch will start promptly at 11:30 a.m. 

Stadvec earned a B.A. in Political Science from The University in 1950 on the G.I. Bill, after serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. A participant in UA’s ROTC program and commissioned when graduated, Stadvec went on to serve as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and later served in the Air Force Reserve. Stadvec spent eighteen years active and Reserve status with the Army Air Corps and Air Force leaving with the rank of First Lieutenant. 

During his years at UA, Stadvec played both baseball and football. In 2012, he was inducted into The University of Akron’s Varsity “A” Sports Hall of Fame, as the recipient of the Mike Krino Varsity “A” Achievement Award.

“Wayne College is very excited to have our veterans on campus,” stated Jarrod Tudor, Ph.D., dean of Wayne College. “We are committed to remaining a comfortable place for our veterans to attend college during and after a veteran’s service to our country.”
